Founded in 1916, Pymble is committed to creating a personalised learning environment for each student so she develops a passion for learning and scholarship, a strong assurance of her own worth, and the desire and values to contribute meaningfully to her local and global communities.
The college provides myriad opportunities for excellence in academic studies, sports and the arts, a comprehensive curriculum with outstanding facilities and a nurturing pastoral care program that recognises and develops each girl’s unique strengths and qualities.
Pymble also fosters an international education environment, promoting global citizenship and a worldwide perspective.
The college offers 46 HSC subject courses as well as an extensive range of co-curricular programs, including professional sports coaching, music tuition and ensembles.
“We can also purpose-design new opportunities to suit students’ individual needs as required, all conveniently located on campus,” principal Vicki Waters said.
Pymble’s 120 boarders enjoy modern, comfortable rooms in beautiful and historical boarding houses.
Each boarding house is age-specific – Lang House for year 12, Goodlet House for year 10 and 11, and Marden House for years 7 to 9 – and the number of boarders is kept intentionally small in order to be able to nurture the girls at their different stages of physical, emotional, social and spiritual growth.

“Our experienced and nurturing staff take the time to really get to know each boarder so that every girl feels like she is coming home after school each day to a place where she is loved,” Mrs Waters said.
Many boarders come from Australia’s regional areas and enjoy the strong agriculture program, which revolves around a comprehensive agriculture plot, complete with livestock and produce. Girls can also join the popular and successful co-curricular cattle club.
Pymble encourages strong relationships between boarders and with their families. The older girls help the younger ones through the Big Sister program.
Boarders’ families are always welcome to stay on-campus with their daughters, and we forge strong bonds between boarders and day girl families through our City Families program.
There are also several programs exclusive to boarders, including homework and study support, access to the state-of-the-art aquatic and fitness centre, mentorship and peer support.
