Girls who board at Frensham are proving that distance is no barrier to a great education and lifelong friendships.
Students from regional areas say that Frensham has broadened their perspective, and helped them form friendships they will have for life.
“I was excited and nervous at the same time to board at Frensham,” Bella Gale, a year 11 student from Broken Hill, said.
“But boarding is so big here … so we get the opportunity to meet more people.”

Tammy and Tony Brown, whose daughter Sarah is now in year 9, chose Frensham because Sarah felt most comfortable there and it also had similar values to them as parents.
“Sarah’s confidence has increased tenfold which in turn is reflected in her school work and all the different sports she plays and in her piano lessons,” Matt said. “We would certainly recommend Frensham to isolated/remote families because this school is in tune with our daughter’s needs.”
Head of Frensham Julie Gillick knows the parents of boarders value the school’s personalised approach academically and the professional staff in boarding.
“Most important is that we do everything possible to assist boarders to settle in to school life and that we establish personal links with parents so that they feel we are close at hand, regardless of their physical distance from Frensham,” she said.
“Above all, we truly value the trust placed in us by parents to share in the education of their daughters.”
