The wool made a huge 2295 clean price to reap Mr Moncrief 1600 cents a kilo greasy for his line of wool which has never been seen before for this micron category.
Mr Moncrieff said he was pleased with the result.
This was a fantastic result but was not the first time Mr Moncrieff has topped the market.
He was paid the top market price for a five-bale line of 17.5 hogget fleece wool 18 months earlier, so he is going about his wool preparation the right way.
Wool prices are at a level now never seen before at a consistent level, and premiums can be made if the wool is prepared correctly. More good news for the wool industry is the hope for the lifting of tariffs from North Korea which is another avenue for wool sales overseas.
