Meat and Livestock Australia reported that lamb quality was mixed for well finished, supplementary fed lambs and plainer types.
Heavy and extra heavy weight lambs made up the majority of the offering. Light lambs held firm to average $124/head. Trade weights were $3 to $4 dearer, making from $128 to $184/head. Heavy and extra heavy weight lambs lifted $5 to $8/head. Heavy lambs sold from $174 to $200/head. Those that weighed 24-30kg sold from $196 to $240, with lambs more than 30kg making $248 to a centre record of $270/head. Carcase prices averaged 725c to 791c/kg cwt. Merino lambs made $145 to $208/head. Mutton quality was similar to previous sales and Merinos made up the majority of the yarding. Merino ewes sold from $112 to $172/head. Crossbred ewes received from $106 to $190 and Dorper ewes made $95 to $157/head.
