The high price follow on from a run of national records across NSW in the past month.
According to Meat and Livestock Australia’s National Livestock Reporting Service vendors sold 13,500 sheep and lambs. Light lambs lifted $3 and sold from $121 to $133/head.
Trade weights lifted $5 to $15 with 18-20kg lambs from $134 to $156/head.
Lambs weighing 20kg to 22kg made from $155 to $204/head.
Heavy and extra heavy weights attracted strong competition and increased $15 to $18/head.
Lambs up to 26kg sold from $200 to $239, while those over 26kg sold from $231 to twice reach a new Australian record of $284/head.
