According to Meat and Livestock Australia’s national livestock reporting service the few pens of trade weight new season lambs sold from $172 to $195/head. Old light lambs received from $138 to $155/head. Trade weights sold $8 dearer, with prices making from $141 to $218/head. Heavy and extra heavy weight lambs increased $10 to $14/head, as supply begins to decrease. Heavy lambs up to 26kg sold from $202 to $275, with those over 26kg receiving from $148 to $300/head. Carcase prices averaged from 838c to 923c/kg. Mutton numbers showed the decline and quality was very mixed. Prices decreased with Merino ewes making from $88 to $145/head. Crossbred ewes received from $92 to $142.
