The breeder currently has three sires entered in the Merino Lifetime Productivity (MLP) project, evaluating them against other sires, with high-ranked results to date.
At the Peter Westblade Memorial Merino Challenge Wagga 2016-2018, clients using Greendale genetics were ranked first, second and third on dollar return per hectare.
In the last 15 years of the Bookham trial, Greendale genetics have produced the highest profit per hectare. The latest trial (2015-2018) concluded with Greendale genetics finishing first and a commercial client having the highest dollar return per hectare from 29 teams.
This year Greendale has embarked on the use of genomics with DNA testing that will enable the breeder to obtain full pedigree on all of its nucleus flock and achieve greater predictability and accuracy on ASBVs.
