In recent years the stud had the number of participating shareholders reduced from nine to two and it has relocated its breeding ewes to Murrumbateman, which is in close proximity to stud master and owner Dan Carey.
On weaning, the lambs are relocated to Gundagai where they are run in conjunction with Reiland Angus Stud.
The rams are then assessed at one year of age and are then sold in an on-property sale held at Moreton Park, Gundagai.
After classification the ewes are returned to Murrumbateman.
The wool on Dimension Dohne sheep has evolved significantly over the last 19 years, primarily due to them being bred in high rainfall areas.
Wools are well crimped and nourished and have minimal colour, with that renowned body size, low birth rates and fertility that the breed is known for.
New sires have continually been introduced from Gullendah Dohne Stud with a new stud sire purchased last week.
The Dimension Dohne Stud ram selection criteria are strictly held, along with the stud’s long-term objectives.
