Big numbers went under the hammer at the weekly sheep and lamb market in Wagga on Thursday with vendors offering 65,380 head. Despite the big numbers the sale didn’t attract the 77,550 which were initially drawn for.
With the mercury nudging towards 30 degrees as early as 10am the signals of a deteriorating season were clear.
Early in the yarding livestock agents and market reporters estimated the prices to be back by as much as $20 in places.
Meanwhile, the Bureau of Meteorology has thunderstorms forecast for Friday. And showers are forecast for Monday and Tuesday next week.
