The auction also offered White Suffolk rams. A total of 130 Poll Dorsets sold to a top of $3000 to long-time client Corey Becket of Pleasant Hills. The Poll Dorsets averaged $1342. The White Suffolks reached a clearance of 49 rams with the top $1900 and a $1238 average.
Stud principal, Mark Yates said the results showed continuing confidence in the lamb markets and Barwon progeny. He said during the last 12 months the stud had achieve many goals and was seeing the improvements shine through from the recently implemented AI program.
Barwon genetics have featured in some of the record prime lamb prices paid at Wagga Livestock Marketing Centre.
