The nationals, in Camden, allowed Amelia Mathews and her horse Elwitton Cool Acres to test their skills against some of the best riders in the country.
The three-day competition attracted competitors in all ages from eight years up to 21. Amelia competed in a number of events including led, hack, working, time trial and campdraft. It was the campdraft that she was most passionate about and under the eye of judge Jade French, she ran a full course and won this section of the challenge.
This win, combined with scores from the other events, saw her earn the Diane Newberry Trophy for the highest point scoring youth during the show across all age categories.
