Quality store lambs at Yass sold to $136
Butt Livestock and Property, Yass director Phil Butt expressed delight at the response from regular clients to the 18,500 store lambs his company offered for sale during the sixth-annual circuit sale.
The sale is now established as a regular event on the store sheep calendar.
“There is no doubt the season has been much tougher and the vendors have done really well to present the livestock as good as they have been,” Mr Butt said.
“The lambs are still very fresh, with only a few lacking a bit of bloom.”
Mr Butt noted a much smaller crowd of buyers compared with last year, and that is understandable he said given the dry season across much of the state.
“The support we had this year was genuine,” he said.
