Guest speakers include NSW Farmers Economist Ash Salardini and representatives from Transgrid, the Department of Planning and solar farm developer Neoen.
Branch chairman Peter Campbell said the meeting will be an opportunity for members to express and gather opinions about large scale solar development in the region.
“Some of these proposed solar farm developments really are large scale, including an 1100-hectare farm just outside of Culcairn,” Mr Campbell said.
“There is some uncertainty out there in the farming community about why these projects are proposed for this region and any potential positive or negative impacts on nearby farming operations.”
Mr Campbell said NSW Farmers has organised a line of speakers to shine a light on this uncertainty, which will lead to informed feedback from local farmers.
The meeting starts at 6pm at the Culcairn bowling club.
