With temperatures expected to remain high this week, the start time of Thursday’s sale is now 7am.
Council’s director of commercial operations Caroline Angel has asked that when working in these conditions, people keep hydrated and take regular breaks away from the direct heat when possible.
“| again ask that that all stakeholders be mindful of animal and human welfare when considering the management of stock and all associated working animals on Thursday to minimise the effect that the anticipated high temperatures may have on both animals and humans,” she said.
The Bureau of Meteorology is predicting a top temperature of 40 degrees in Wagga on Thursday and an even hotter 44 on Friday.
