According to Meat and Livestock Australia’s National Livestock Reporting Service heavy and extra heavy weight lambs were well supplied.
Not all the usual buyers were present and competing in a cheaper market. Light lambs sold from $115 to $126/head.
Trade weights were $2 to $5 easier, with prices from $126 to $154/head. Heavy and extra heavy weights were $6/head easier and more in places. Heavy lambs sold from $151 to $168 with extra heavy weights receiving from $163 to $210/head.
Carcase prices averaged from 621c to 652c/kg cwt. Mutton quality continues to be mixed and Merinos made up the majority.
Merino ewes sold from $94 to $140, while crossbred ewes received from $84 to $124/head. Dorper ewes sold from $77 to $125/head.
