An increased number of stud and commercial buyers registered their attendance at the sixth annual Wormbete Simmental sale, on account of John and Nicole Hopkins, with invitation to Stuart and Samantha Moeck, Valley Creek Simmentals, Bowral, last Friday.

The top bull, Wormbete Nobleman N28, was sold by John and Nicole Hopkins, Wormbete Simmental, to Stu Cameron, Inverleigh Simmentals, Invergordon, Victoria, for $15,000 with Tim Woodham, Landmark Wagga Wagga doing the bidding.
Tipping the scales at 900 kilograms the 23-month-old was a poll sire by Wormbete Geelong out of a Wormbete Judy L17 female, with a low birth weight estimated breeding value (EBV) at +2.5, 600-day of +57, +1.2 retail beef yield.
He had an eye muscle area (EMA) of 121cm sq and intramuscular fat (IMF) of 3.9.
Inverleigh Simmentals also purchased the second top priced bull of $8000 for Valley Creek Primus, a nine-month-old son of Anchor D Rapror 392C on offer by Stuart and Samantha Moeck, Valley Creek Simmentals.
Primus was the first son to be offered in Australia by Anchor D Raptor 392C.
Weighing in at 534kg, Valley Creek Primus had an EMA of 94cm sq and IMF of 3.7 pc.
Top price female, Wormbete Heroine N42, was purchased by Emohruo Grazing, Middlemount, Queensland, for $6750, who also purchased a further two heifers to an overall average of $4333.
Among the volume buyers were Glencoe Pastoral, Holbrook, who averaged $4500. Also purchasing two bulls were G and AS Wilford, Tarcutta, to average $4250.
Volume buying continued with three females purchased by Country Style Simmentals, Londonderry and Grangeburn Simmentals, Wannon, Victoria, to average $4083 and $3333 respectively.
The sale was settled by Landmark Wagga with Lincoln McKinlay, Glasser Total Sales Management, as auctioneer.
