According to Meat and Livestock Australia's National Livestock Reporting Service numbers decreased and the quality improved.
There was a better run of feeder steers and heifers and a few nice lines of weaners.
Grown steers and heifers were in reduced numbers and there were nearly 600 cows offered.
The market sold to mixed trend, with extra competition on light cows as well as the plainer yearlings from restockers.
Weaners steers were cheaper, making from 160c to 221c and heifers sold 10c dearer, reaching 220c/kg. The quality in the feeder steers did not vary as much and they sold to similar prices, receiving from 200c to 265c/kg.
Feeder heifers lifted 10c to 12c, making from 190c to 249c/kg.
The few trade cattle were firm, making from 255c to 260c/kg.
The few grown steers were 7c cheaper, making from 200c to 212c, as the best of the grown heifers reached 225c/kg.
Plain cows with frame were dearer as restocking orders were active from 81c to 119c/kg. Medium weight 2 score cows were 5c cheaper, receiving from 90c to 135c and the heavy weights eased 9c to 13c to make from 122c to 161c/kg. The 4 score cows averaged 148c/kg lwt.
