Faces in the crowd at the Griffith market

The market trended cheaper at Griffith on Friday after setting some record highs last month. Photographer Anthony Stipo captured the atmosphere.

Vendors sold 7650 sheep and lambs and according to Meat and Livestock Australia's National Livestock Reporting Service lambs sold from $136 to $148/head.

Trade weights were $10 to $15 easier with prices ranging from $158 to $212/head.

Heavy and extra heavyweight were $10 to $20/head easier and more in places. Heavy lambs to 26kg sold from $212 to $246 with extra heavyweights ranging from $255 to $295/head. Carcase prices averaged from 867c to 927c/kg cwt.

Mutton numbers eased and quality was very mixed. Merino ewes sold from $110 to $200/head.
