According to the National Livestock Reporting Service lamb numbers eased and the quality was fair to good. Trade weights were better supplied and were in demand. There was a bigger run of heavy lambs and only a few good store lambs. The market sold to a mixed trend.
The two score processing lambs ranged from $139 to $154 lifting $7/head. The medium and heavy trade lambs eased $3 to $6 and ranged from $158 to $201/head. Heavy lambs gained up to $5 and sold from $194 to $251 and extra heavy lambs sold from $275 to $295/head averaging 835c to 880c/kg cwt. Heavy trade Merinos sold from $154 to $198/head.
Mutton numbers fell and quality was mixed. Prices were firm. Medium weight ewes sold from $114 to $175/head. Heavy crossbreds sold from $174 to $250/head. Carcase prices averaged 560c to 600c/kg cwt.
