WHEN WAS ACTIVE FARMERS FORMED? Active Farmers started in March 2015 at Mangoplah, then Uranquinty in May 2015. I ran those two communities while I worked as a bank manager at Rabobank, then in January 2017 we formed a partnership with Delta Ag and started expanding. I've never looked back! We have grown from two communities to 37 today in almost every state with the help of an amazing team of trainers, board members and administration workers.

DID YOU ENVISAGE IT WOULD GROW TO THE CURRENT SIZE AND POPULARITY? Absolutely not! I always thought it was going to be how I did my bit for my local community. I didn't ever envisage that this would become my job (life), especially when I was considering courses etc at university.
HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE INVOLVED? There are 30 personal trainers who take collectively anywhere from 170 to 190 classes a month for around 600 participants. We also have a team of seven board members, several event sub-committees and a part-time administrative support. In addition we have a huge amount of support from multiple agri-corporates, foundations, philanthropists and organisations such as MPHN.
HIGH PROFILE SUPPORT: Neville Brady, a former Richmond AFL player will speak at the upcoming summit and country music singer Fanny Lumsden will be involved in the future bike ride.
FUTURE GROWTH: We have a lot coming up in the next month. To make it happen I need a lot of help from many people who are equally as passionate as I am.
