According to Meat and Livestock Australia's National Livestock Reporting Service there was a slight rise in lamb numbers and half were new season lambs.
The quality was good with most of the new-season lambs, trade and heavy weights and the old lambs were predominantly heavy weights.
The marker sold to a cheaper trend of $3 to $5/head.
New season lambs to restockers sold up to $142/head.
Medium and heavy trade weights sold from $163 to $182/head, averaging 805c to 835c/kg cwt. Heavy lambs received from $185 to $193/head, averaging 790c/kg cwt.
Old trade lambs made from $130 to $174/head, averaging 760c/kg cwt. Heavy weights made a top of $196 and extra heavy old lambs making up to $235/head or 720c to 730c/kg cwt. Merino lambs sold up to $188/head.
Mutton numbers lifted and the quality was good, with mostly heavy sheep penned. Prices were back with the very heavy sheep easing the most. Heavy crossbred ewes made from $133 to $150/head. Merinos made up to $153 and Dorpers sold up to $140/head.
