Operated by Jamie and Tracey Buerckner the stud now comprises of 350 breeding ewes, selling about 150 rams annually.
It will be holding its sixth annual ram sale on AuctionsPlus on Tuesday, October 8 from noon.
From small beginnings, this sale has now grown with clients ranging from Dubbo in the north to Beridale in the south of the state and as far away as south western Victoria.
Inspection of the sale rams will be possible from 2-5pm on Thursday 3 October.
In conjunction with the use of Stockscan performance recording, Bauer focuses on breeding large framed, easy doing, well muscled rams.
More recently, the Buerckners have introduced micron testing with the focus also now on crossbred wool commanding premiums for being under 30 microns.
Since its inception, the stud has exhibited at many shows, winning many broad ribbons.
It just returned from Melbourne Royal where it produced the Supreme Border Leicester for the third year running and was also awarded most successful exhibitor.
First-cross ewes sired by Bauer rams are consistently at the top end of sales.
The state record pen at the recent West Wyalong/Temora first-cross ewe sale sired by Bauer Rams, to a repeat buyer for $356.
The first-cross ewe was described at the sale as the premier product for Border Leicester breeders and worthy of the effort that goes into breeding them.
