Following an inspection of drafts of cows with calves and yearling bulls, delegates sat down to a dinner of prime grass-fed steak with roast vegetables.
All agreed the steak was perfectly marbled and worthy of premium value at any renowned restaurant.
"It shows what the beef industry can do with the right genetics and pasture grown beef," Mr Spry said.
Among the after dinner speakers, Andrew McDougall, Adelong took the guests through his three-way cross-breeding program in which Shorthorn genetics are a key component.
