The sale will feature 20 stud rams - including ex-show rams - as well as 110 flock rams and 24 stud ewes.
At the stud's summer sale last February, repeat buyers and new clients underpinned strong returns with a top price for the day of $3750.
All but one of the 27 stud rams sold to an average of $1750, while 67 flock rams averaged $1020 and 13 stud ewes were sold for a $500 average.
Stud principal Graham Grinter started his Border Leicester journey in 1963 when he purchased five joined stud ewes to form the Blequin stud (flock no. 3072). After buying a further 10 ewes and a ram the following year, he started showing with success.
The Retallack stud (flock no. 3666) was founded by Graham in 1975 with a nucleus of top ewes from Blequin stud, plus another 30 stud ewes from the dispersal of the Sproules Lagoon stud and the ram Campaspe BN305-74.
Retallack's "big move" came in 1977 with selection of 100 maiden ewes from top Victorian studs, along with the ram Terrappee 501-76.
The Campaspe and Terrappee rams laid down the breeding direction of Retallack's stud flock.
Lambing commences late July with most lambs on the ground by mid September. Early drops are catalogued for the spring sale in October, with the later stock retained for the summer sale (February).
Retallack Border Leicester Stud is located at 326 Tidds Lane (via Mandamah Forrest Road), Ariah Park. The sale will commence at 1pm.
