According to Meat and Livestock Australia's National Livestock Reporting Service lamb quality was very mixed with both well finished and plainer lambs penned. Not all the usual buyers were present and competing in a fairly steady market. Light new season lambs held steady to sell from $136 to $148/head. Trade weights were also fairly firm to receive from $154 to $178/head. Heavy and extra heavy weights eased $3 to $4 with heavy lambs selling from $180 to $190/head. Extra heavy weights reached $198/head. Carcase prices averaged from 760c to 786c/kg cwt.
Old trade weight lambs sold from $152 to $170 with extra heavies reaching $210/head. Mutton quality was fair with Merino ewes making up the majority. These sold from $108 to $190/head. Crossbred ewes received from $120 to $190 with Dorper ewes reaching $160/head.
