Kim Chau's body was found concealed in a bedroom of the home in September with Numan Mohammed charged with her murder.

In Adelaide Magistrates Court on Friday, prosecutors also said investigators were processing 1000 hours of CCTV footage compiled from thousands of cameras as part of their case against the 21-year-old.

The court heard they were also waiting on forensic evidence including DNA analysis from the crime scene as a request was made for a lengthy adjournment.

Defence counsel agreed to the delay and withdrew a bail application because there was no accommodation available for Mohammed.

A fresh application may be made once that situation changes.

Ms Chau lived at the Sturt Street home alongside the owners, who both hold senior positions in the SA public service.

Police were first called to a house amid concerns for the 39-year-old's safety after she failed to show up at work and missed some social events.

At the time of her death, Detective Superintendent Des Bray said as her body was concealed, others in the home would not have known her fate.

"Anybody going about daily activities in the house, walking through the house, going into rooms, wouldn't have seen the victim," he said.

Supt Bray said the couple who owned the house were friends with Ms Chau and there was nothing to suggest they were involved.

"They've certainly co-operated fully in this investigation and done everything they can to help us," he said.

Mohammed will return to court in May next year.
