Twiggy spent more than 48 hours in the bush after being dumped from owner Desiree Stewart's car when it was stolen from Bendigo Racecourse while Desiree was working about 7.20am on Tuesday.
The dog was later seen wandering around the Wellsford forest before turning up on CCTV at the Park Lane Holiday Park in Junortoun.
Desiree said being reunited with Twiggy felt like a headache had been lifted from her.
"They saw on the CCTV camera, she had wandered past," Desiree said. "They'd seen story on Facebook.
"They were able to get her into a shed and watched her (until my mum arrived). Twiggy was cowering and growling but as soon as Mum turned up she was in her arms.
"As soon she saw me, it was like a packet or worms. She was elated."
Twiggy is spending the afternoon playing with her pup friends at Desiree's mum's house for the rest of the day.
Park Lane Holiday Park manager Julie Quinn said the park was eager to help when they saw Twiggy.
"We have quite large maintenance shed with CCTV and saw a little pup running around," Julie said. "I radioed maintenance to see if it was OK.
"We get a lot of farm dogs and are pet-friendly park, so never know if a dog is guest's or a farmer's.
"But we're a pet and child friendly park, so it was important to help."
Julie said staff realised the dog was Twiggy when they heard the description.
"One of housekeepers had seen the paper and when I said it was a white dog with blacked spots it clicked with everyone," Julie said.
"Desiree's mum had dropped off a local paper and we had seen it on Facebook. We managed to get food and water to Twiggy and she gulped that up until Nana came to get her."
Julie said Twiggy was scared but otherwise was in good health.
"She was in really good shape apart from being scared," she said. "There were no bumps or bruises, just a few sticks in her coat.
"Her tail was going crazy, and she was jumping and yelping when she was reunited (with Desiree).
"We've all got dogs as well so you can imagine how horrendous it is to lose (a pet).
"Twiggy is just a beautiful dog. It's a shame someone felt the need to steal a car as well as dump a beautiful dog."
