Organisers of the Peter Westblade Memorial Merino Challenge made a logistical decision to schedule the shearing at the property due to the presence of an undercover area.
The sheep were yarded up before the rain began to fall.
Sally Martin of Sally Martin Consulting said the rain was just amazing.
"Everyone is in very high spirits," she said.

"Logistically it gives us a few challenges, but we have a great venue here," she said.
Mrs Martin said the fleeces were being weighed and all of the numbers and data was evaluated during the process.
A dollars per head value of what the sheep were cutting was taken into account.
"We will crunch a few more numbers so we can generate a dollars per head value and compare that with what they did last year," she said.
In addition to gathering valuable industry data that can ultimately help operators boost the bottom line the shearing provided an educational avenue too.
Mrs Martin said the shearing had been visited by school students and there was also keen interest from those people involved in the Peter Westblade Scholarship.
