Lockhart Shire Council general manager Peter Veneris has issued a statement saying the shire's customer service office will be temporarily closed.

This is being done as a precautionary measure due to coronavirus COVID-10.
The statement says face-to-face customer service will be temporarily unavailable from Thursday, March, 26, 2020 to ensure the safety of both the community and Lockhart Shire Council staff.
In accordance with the Government's advice, arrangements are being put in place to enable some staff to work from home.
Back office functions will otherwise continue as normal to ensure it is business as usual where possible.
During this time people are encouraged to transact business or deal with council's administration over the phone or online. Information on how to pay your rates online or by telephone can be found by visiting www.lockhart.nsw.gov.au/council/ratespayments.aspx.
Credit card payments can also be made over the phone by calling council's office on (02) 6920 5305.
Anyone unable to pay using other methods, is also asked to contact council's office.
For all other inquiries, please call council's office to speak to the appropriate officer or to make an appointment.
Other Council facilities that are temporarily closed to the public include:
- The Visitor Information Centre and Greens Gunyah Museum, Lockhart.
- The Rock Museum
- Indoor sporting venues including The Rock Community Gym Swimming pools
- The mobile library service has been suspended by Riverina Regional Library
Council facilities that have remained open include:
- The Rock OOSH (in accordance with Government advice)
- Waste management facilities
- Lockhart Caravan Park
