On the back of the previous week's cheaper market numbers dropped significantly.
According to Meat and Livestock Australia's National Livestock Reporting Service quality was good, with trade and heavy lambs finished off grain.
Light lambs were in short supply pitting processors and restockers against each other for a market share. It was a reduced field of buyers at the market with some major domestic and export companies not in attendance.
Despite less buying competition price increased $10/head for trade lambs.
Lambs weighing 21kg to 24kg sold from $185 to $220 with carcase weight prices averaging 860c to 880c/kg cwt.
Light weight lambs to the processors and restockers jumped $20, making from $140 to $176/head.
Heavy lambs were keenly sought by several processor who pushed sales $10/head higher to average 850c/kg cwt.
Prices for extra heavy lambs lifted $6 to $10 making from $215 to $298.20/head. It was a very mixed quality yarding of mutton with reasonable numbers of trade sheep through the offering.
Heavy mutton sold to weak demand which resulted in a cheaper trend of $20/head. Heavy crossbred ewes sold up to $230/head, averaging 650c to 670c/kg cwt.
Heavy wethers sold at $188 to $244/head averaging 665/kg cwt. Trade and light sheep sold from $110 to $170/head
