According to Meat and Livestock Australia's National Livestock Reporting Service numbers eased and the quality of the young cattle eased slightly.
There were more cattle that suited the strong restocking and feeder orders and only a few prime trade cattle.
Grown steers remain in very short supply and around 265 cows were penned.
Restocking and feeder cattle sold to a much dearer trend while trade cattle lifted 5c/kg.
Cows were firm to 2c cheaper on the light and medium weights to process and 4c/kg dearer on the prime heavy weights. Restocking cows were considerably dearer.
Young weaners to restockers sold to 498c for the steers and 421c/kg for heifers. Medium weight feeder steers were 10c dearer selling mainly from 350c to 397c/kg.
Heavy weights sold from 355c to 387c/kg. Medium weight steers returning to the paddock reached 420c/kg. Feeder heifers also had gains of around 10c with medium weights 320c to 379c/kg. Heavy trade cattle lifted 5c, making from 370c to 400c/kg.
Grown heifers to restock sold from 260c to 332c/kg. Medium weight cows sold from 245c to 283c and the heavy weights made from 266c to 296c/kg. Restocking cows made 240c to young cows running with a bull selling at 328c/kg.
