According to Meat and Livestock Australia's National Livestock Reporting Service numbers declined with mutton showing the biggest change.
There was a very good yarding of lambs available with plenty of these grain assisted.
Heavy and extra heavy weight lambs made up the majority of the offering. Most of the usual buyers were present and competing in a dearer market.
Light lambs sold from $172 to $190/head.
Trade weights were limited in number but sold $10 dearer to range from $200 to $225/head.
A quality offering of heavy and extra heavy weight lambs saw prices lifted $10 to $13 to sell from $240 to $324/head. Carcase prices averaged from 780c to 840c/kg cwt.
There was too few mutton yarded to quote and prices eased. Heavy crossbred ewes reached $195 with Merinos selling to $195/head.
