Twins set to star on television renovation competition House Rules said the experience filming the series made them appreciate their home state of Tasmania more than ever before.

Launceston's Kimmy and Rhi Harris started filming House Rules late last year and said they were proud to represent the region.

"The more time we spent on the mainland, the more we realised how much we loved Tassie," Kimmy said.

"It's really nice to put Launceston on the map because usually everyone comes from Hobart or everything happens in Hobart so it's nice to give Launnie a little wave of the flag every now and then."

In the season premiere, which airs tonight on Channel Seven, the twins help renovate a Gold Coast penthouse.

"Me and Rhi had never been to Queensland or the Gold Coast," Kimmy said.

The twins, who grew up near Beaconsfield, said they planned to sit down with a wine for tonight's premiere.
