Quality was even across the offering with an equal top price of $1550 paid.
The first top price was 16 Connemara- and Scotts Angus-blood Angus steers, 11 months and weighing 378kg sold by Kimo Partnership, Gundagai; and the second time top was 33 Charolais/Angus steers weighing 378kg sold by Burrenderry Pastoral, Gundagai.
Other excellent sales included 18 Shorthorn steers weighing 370kg sold by B and C Kell, Tumut, for $1500: 12 black baldy steers weighing 378kg sold for $1530 by Mungala Partnership, Coolac, and 10 Angus steers weighing 339kg sold by G Fenn, Tumut for $1445.
Sales for steers less than 300kg included 17 Herefords, 297kg, sold for $1335 by A.J Beaven, Tumbarumba; nine Angus steers, 294kg, sold by R and P Coveny, Tumut, for $1375, and 13 Angus-cross steers, 290kg, sold by Tony Webb, Tumut, for $1315.
In the heifer pens, $1500 was achieved for 17 Angus, weighing 372kg sold on account Bangadang Farming Partnership, Adelong; while H.T Sutton, Tumut, sold 33 Angus heifers weighing 315kg for $1445 and Maroumba Pastoral Co, Adelong, received $1430 for their 19 Amarina-blood Angus weighing 335kg.
Heifers less than 300kg sold for $1240 when A and C Scoullar, Batlow, offered 19 black baldies weighing 294kg; while G Fenn, Tumut, sold 17 Angus weighing 266kg for $1230 and R and J McLennan, Tumut, sold 15 Angus weighing 256kg for $1240.
