A TOTAL of 219 rams from the Yates family's Barwon stud at Yerong Creek sold in a 100 per cent clearance.

Stud principals, Mark and Jane said they were humbled by the support from new and repeat clients.

The Poll Dorset rams sold to a high of $4200 with the top-priced sire destined to Killandayle stud at Holbrook.

White Suffolk rams topped at $3000 with support from purchasers Wooden partnership. Meanwhile, the Barwon Stud located at "Barwon South" purchased a new Poll Dorset sire for $30,000.

Gooramma 190079 is a young ram who is in the top 5 per cent of the industry for his growth traits and has the fat and muscle to complement the existing flock.

Mr Yates said it was extremely hard to find a good Poll Dorset with traditional breed traits and the ASBV figures to match

"To find an animal that has both is very rare," he said.
