Miss Webster earned the title of Wagga Showgirl back in 2019, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic the royal was cancelled in 2020, but is anticipated to gain momentum this year.

With a passion for the rural industry and tertiary qualifications that are helping her to kick goals in the research side of the meat industry Miss Webster is looking forward to the experience.

However, she was humble in saying the calibre of entrants is high.

"There are so many incredible people (heading to Sydney) and they are from all walks of life," she said.

In paving a successful road to the Sydney final Miss Webster was also successful in the showgirl competition at a zone level.

Her passion for the primary industries sector, including a trip to the US to further her research and development skills, were in part what inspired her to enter. It's also evident she has a keen interest in community.

Miss Webster said she first entered the showgirl competition in 2017. Then she used the experience to learn and prepare for success in 2019. "At the time I was studying, I have since graduated with a bachelor of agricultural science," she said.

Miss Webster said the showgirl journey was a valuable one. "I have learned so much about rural communities and what goes into running a show," she said.

In addition to her ties to Wagga Show Society she was recently involved with the Gundagai Show.

"Even now we are knuckling down for the Wagga Show (in September), it takes a lot of people, and a lot of work to make a show go ahead," she said.

Miss Webster said she has an affinity for agricultural life and grew up in Orange before moving to Wagga in 2016 to study. Recently she has moved to Gundagai.

"I am really excited that (Sydney Royal) is actually happening, initially we got hyped up and then it was cancelled ... I'm a bit nervous but I'm sure the other girls are as well," she said.

Miss Webster said she would encourage other people to enter the showgirl competition.
