Steady rain has set the scene for a decent start to winter sowing in the area and there's plenty of enthusiasm from members of the show committee for the upcoming October 9 event.
Illabo is known for producing fine crowd-pleasing exhibits including a popular prime lamb hoof and hook competition plus a young auctioneers event.
However, 2021 is set to see vintage machinery, sideshows, static displays, brimming pavillion events, fireworks and plenty more to mark the centenary event.
Show president Simon Muller and his dad Bill are regular faces at the event and they are looking forward to showcasing the best the region has to offer.
They said there is certainly an element of additional interest in the 2021 event given the fact that the show didn't go ahead last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
Mr Muller said the show was a true community event. He said there was help flowing from around 100 or more members of the community.
This involvement provided a sense of ownership and pride.
"We are having a great start to the cropping season in this area ... and people are looking forward to the show," he said.
Show secretary, Nicole Hopkins is enthusiastic about the October event too.
She said upgrades to the ground had been undertaken with the help of State and Federal Government grants.
Just one of those projects was to build a new structure to cover the bar. Upgrades to the lamb pens had also taken shape and there was a brand new kitchen in the pavillion.
"People are excited to see the show (back in 2021)," Mrs Hopkins said.
Bill Muller, who farms in close proximity to the showground, said the facility was used for other community events, not just the annual show.
He said to see these upgrades and improvements was a good thing for the rural community in general.
Mr Muller said the yard dog trial was always a great drawcard for the show. Along with that the equestrian events were also strongly supported.
A dog show was on the program too and a dog agility competition was planned.
