Shows, field days and agricultural gatherings were mostly cancelled, or moved to an online format to accommodate the health requirements at the time.
AUGUST 21: Ganmain Show is a fun packed day out for the whole family. It's a country show with all the nostalgia of a true country show with the fan fair of sideshow alley and entertainment. A true country show has an electric atmosphere and a vibe that makes you want to put the date in your diary for next year before you head home. You will want to come back year after year.
SEPTEMBER 10 and 11: Wagga Show Society is also thrilled to present a two-day event after the cancellation last year.
Earlier this year Robert Hamilton was named as Wagga Show Society president and he continues as a third generation member of his family to hold the position. He follows in the footsteps of his father Bruce Hamilton, who was president from 1999 to 2003 and his grandfather, the late Henry Hamilton who served as president from 1977 to 1980.
OCTOBER 2 and 3: Organisers of the Good Old Days Festival 2021 have confirmed the event at Barellan in the Riverina will go a head in October. Bruce Bandy was returned as event president. Online bookings for public gate entry, camping and stallholders will open from May 1 on www.barellanclydesdales.com.au. Mr Bandy said the new amenities block was almost completed and a new kitchen would be installed in the Carroll pavilion before the festival.
"We were excited and fortunate to see our showground receive funding of $244,992 from the NSW Government's showground stimulus to build new toilets and amenities," Mr Bandy said.
OCTOBER 9: Organisers of the centenary Illabo Show are looking forward to a spectacular event after the show was cancelled in 2020 due to coronavirus. The show is set to feature a prime lamb hoof and hook competition, auctioneers competition, dog show, yard dog event plus the well-supported equestrian events.
