MLA market reporter Caroline Ronald said the quality was mixed with the regular grain assisted lambs available and a larger offering of store lambs.
A good supply of Merino lambs sold up to $10 dearer with heavy and extra heavy lines making from $205 to $235 and trade weights selling to $205/head.
It was a limited offering of trade weight lambs with most pens selling $10/head below last weeks trends. Medium and heavy weights sold from $175 to $208/head to average from 796c and 831c/kg cwt. Heavy lamb quality was mixed with lambs selling from $204 to $210, slipping $10/head. Lambs weighing over 26kg going to the export processors made up the bulk of the yarding. The quality continues to be good with lambs selling from $215 to $274, slipping $2 to $7/head. Mutton numbers increased and prices were stronger with heavy lines gaining $12/head. Heavy Merino ewes sold from $210 to $225/head. Heavy cross bred ewes sold from $184 to $230/head. Merino wethers were well supplied selling up to $224/head.
