Buyers were seeking out quality genetics and the results were indicative of a successful beef cattle industry, allowing for an overall auction average of $8319.
Conducted by H Francis and Co, the stud-stock auction at Wagga Livestock Marketing Centre, which was interfaced with AuctionsPlus, fielded bids from as far away as Western Australia.
Buyers Mick and Mary Parsons of Kia Ora Limousin Stud at Roslyn secured Myers Lady Luck R16, offered by vendor Scott Myers of Myers Angus and Limousins.
The heifer by Myers Western from Myers Lady Luck was described as having excellent genetics and conformation.
Mrs Parsons said they were impressed with the female pedigree line of this heifer and the genetics would be an asset to the Kia Ora Stud.
Meanwhile, it proved to be a successful afternoon for Mr Myers who also sold the first lot of the auction for the equal-top money of $30,000.
Sired by Premier Billy The Kid from Waterford Melancauli, the cow was described as being a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
In addition Lot 6, also offered by Myers Angus and Limousins, Myers My Fair Lady, by Wulfs Zane X238Z (HP*) (B) (PN) (AA) from Myers Lady Luck (P) (B) (PF) made $24,000.
Uranquinty vendor Scott Lewington had a successful sale after selling Lot 9, Kymarney Regal Q002 (AI) (ET) (P) for $24,000. The female from Kymarney Herefords was sired by Tobruk Maverick from Kymarney Regal K006 (AI) (H).
Mr Lewington said he was pleased with the result.
In the bull section JTR Cattle Company sold Lot 27, JTR Cattle Co N)3 Marscay Q19 for $13,000.
Meanwhile, lot 26, WD Red Mr Quicksilver Q03 offered by WD cattle, made $12,000.
During the sale, under cover in the store pens, more rain fell to contribute to the 30mm to 40mm already recorded in the gauge throughout the Riverina.
