Meat and Livestock Australia market reporter, Graeme Richard said trade and heavy lambs were best supplied and there were very few light lambs on offer.
Demand was strong for export lambs which lifted prices $4 to $6/head.
Trade lambs were cheaper by $7 to $10/head while the drier lambs were discounted the most. New season trade lambs ranged from $193 to $251/head averaging from 920c to 960c/kg cwt.
Heavy lambs weighing 24 to 26kg sold from $238 to $288 and the 26 to 30kg cwt lambs sold from $268 to $321/head to average around 970c to 1000c/kg cwt.
Extra heavy lambs reached $330/head.
Old trade lambs and shorn lambs sold from $200 to $248 and heavy weights made from $260 to $320/head and averaged 1000c/kg cwt. The extra heavy lambs reached $322/head.
Merino lambs reached a top of $254/head to average 900c/kg cwt. Mutton numbers lifted and the quality was fair. Prices eased $10 to $15/head with not all the usual buyers operating.
Medium weight ewes made from $138 to $178 and heavy crossbred ewes ranged from $188 to $212/head. Merinos made from $194 to $215/head with most averaging 550c to 600c/kg cwt. Solid heavy Merino wethers reached $239/head.
