It has been a very successful period of genetic improvement via embryo transfer (ET), artificial insemination (AI) and strong selection on improved wool characteristics, carcase traits and correct structure.
The stud offered 35 rams which realised a top price of $3850 and average price of $1240 for the 30 rams sold.
The top price at $3850 was paid by Hay Pastoral Co, Wagga Wagga, for the heaviest ram in the catalogue.
Weighing 91 kilograms at 14 months, and grown out on pasture, the ram figured in the top five per cent for Dohne Index and data, and top 10pc for fleece weight.
He was noted for his impressive muscle and fat data and an imposing frame carrying a 21-micron fleece.
High indexing rams were in demand and were eagerly snapped up by return clients, with volume buyers including Wokalena Pastoral, Wagga Wagga, the Bush family, Goulburn and long-term client Martin Honour, Junee.
There were several rams sold into the Braidwood area with buyers focusing on carcase and constitution.
Lach Harris, Wokalena Pastoral, Wagga Wagga, praised the stud for its emphasis on exceptional wool and the structural integrity of the Dohne bloodlines.
The auction was settled by Nutrien Ag Solutions, Wagga Wagga, with Ken Miall and James Croker taking the bids.
