This year’s sale will feature quality Santa Gertrudi bulls and quality young females - 28 bulls in open auction and 12 set price, 24 stud heifers (in lots of six) and 120 select commercial Santa cattle.
The Hague Family has been running cattle in western NSW since 1919, originally at Rand. The Rockingham Santa Gertrudis stud was established in 1969 and in 1978 operations were moved to Tullibigeal before expansion into Western Division country around Euabalong West and Ivanhoe in the early 1980s.

In the 2018 sale guide, Peter Hague said conditions had been challenging.
“This is where Santa cattle are proving their ability to survive and produce outstanding beef even in tough times,” Mr Hague said.
“Commercial calves that we have weaned at a very young age have been able to still grow out and make feedlot weights of 350-400 kg with some supplementary feeding at 14 months of age.
“I don’t think some other breeds of cattle could do this under those conditions.
“(The sale) is a good chance to acquire some of those female genetics in our commercial sale section.
“The bulls we have on offer show plenty of muscle, good sheath, skin and temperament and we hope you can find something to suit your breeding program.”
