THE Armstrong family of Armdale - Armdale Park Poll Dorset Studs strongly believes the breed has the most consistent body shape and fastest growth rates to give prime lamb producers the edge in both the domestic and export markets.
Rams need to deliver consistent performance to give producers maximum confidence in the ability to achieve specification for premium markets.
For this, Poll Dorsets deliver.
“The first goal of any successful prime lamb enterprise is to get live lambs on the ground and then have them grow as fast as possible,” Garry Armstrong said.
“The Armdale rams have the correct neck and shoulder shape to allow for lambing ease.”
All Armdale rams are backed up with performance figures, which will be displayed on sale day.
According to Garry, this year’s figures are the best they have achieved since they commenced recording, with grass-fed rams recording up to a 50mm EMA depth.
“Our clients use Armdale rams because they perform, delivering the type of lamb they need to lift their enterprise,” Garry said.
“Producers are seeking rams that produce even lines of lambs, with fast growth that allows for a quicker return on investment.”
Armdale Studs have enjoyed the best show results ever, achieving champions at every major show, yet again consolidating their position in the stud industry.
At the top of the list has been Kotzur A85-15 and Bromar A197-15, Champion rams at Canberra Royal, NSW Dorset Championships and Reserve Champion at Bendigo ASBA.
“With markets strong and the season the best we have enjoyed for many years, producers should feel confident in seeking the best genetics available to enhance their enterprise,” Garry said.
“If producers are looking for quality, this year’s draft of rams will not disappoint.”
Armdale-Armdale Park Poll Dorset Studs will hold their 42nd on-property stud and flock ram sale at “Armdale”, Marrar on Friday, September 30 commencing at 1pm.
